Gene expression variation in the brains of harvester ant foragers is associated with collective behavior

This study investigates how gene expression variation in the brains of red harvester ant foragers is linked to collective behavior and reproductive success. Using RNA-seq, we found that differences in gene expression among colonies correlate with their sensitivity to humidity and the dopamine-to-serotonin ratio in forager brains.
