A delicate conch is perched inside your skull, patiently awaiting the introduction of an ear worm. Music, meet Brain. Brain, this is Music. From a curved waveform in the auditory canal, she is seamlessly transmuted into an electrochemical staccato. As the signal accelerates and bifurcates along neural pathways, the musical impulse is structurally distorted and semantically interpreted. Oscillating air molecules, perceived, are musical experience by another name. Pre hoc expectations, subconscious and culturally-informed, have already become post hoc conclusions via a process intangible to all but the stillest.
