No one said America was easy to love. Perhaps it would be easier to love if it were more peaceful and more fractal-like (as the drawing suggests). However we were not given this choice of America vs. Utopia ("no-place"). We were blessed with this complex world as it is, America and all.
Asking what one can do for their country (and vice-versa) is a very 1961 sentiment. Right now the question seems to be about how we will act together to bring about an effective and aligned and resilient future for America.
I venture that all those interested in a participatory and decentralized patriotism, will find plenty of work to be done in the coming weeks, months, and years. Our collective blood, sweat…
