Description
Molecular Genetics and Quantitative Genetics are not opponents. Rather, they serve as a scientific Scylla and Charybdis: reminded of the extreme philosophical and experimental limitations of each approach, we navigate a hybrid course through the choppy waters of genetic explanation. We can be attracted to the context--dependent merits of an approach (or equally, repulsed by the context-dependent drawbacks of the other), without being tied to ideological allegiances. In this way, That Old Ship of Science continues sailing towards an applicable and elegant understanding of Genetics....
